Edna's Tape colletion.

Hello all. Here I started out thinking that I could use this page to somehow I could put Edna's tape collection on this page. I did put a link at the top of the page where you could click on it to go to where the collection is stored. So now that I have this page with no other plan in mind, I think I will talk about how we got started collecting the tapes. We have been BIG into yardsales and going to the swapmeets. We started by finding a few good ones at the yardsales that we went to . After that when we found out how much better it was to play that tapes when we wanted to watch a movie instead of waiting for a good one to come on TV. We started out pretty slow and before too long we were really getting with it. I got to where we were having trouble finding a place to store all of them. We ended up with over 3000 or so. As we were getting them, I used Microsoft Excel to log them in to where we could find any movie that we wanted to watch. After awhile I thought it might be better yet to use this other program too, Microsoft FrontPage. What you see when you click on the link above is a combination of the two programs. I spent much time finding all the information that I needed to get the program setup to where I could get it log in. Finding all the links to the different websites and all the pictures that I needed. I had to do a bunch of scanning on the boxes that the tapes came in. I also had to buy a bunch of boxes to store the tapes in. As I got the tapes, I put a label on it with my label maker. I started out with "A" and so for I am on the fourth time through the alphabet. I stored the tapes in the boxes in order too. I marked on the boxes that start and the finish just in case I wanted to find a certain movie. We live in a little trailer without too much room for storage of any kind. I bought some tarps and ended up putting them on the cement slab next to the trailer. I covered them so that they wouldn't get wet when it rained. Right now, we are at the point that we would like to sell them and get another hobby that doesn't take so much time and space. My brother-in-law was saying that he is going to have a yardsale and ask us if we wanted to bring the tapes over and put them in his yardsale. I been thinking of talking to a neighbor down the street. He has a yardsale about every two weeks. I was thinking that maybe letting him have half of what he could sell them for. I know that the vhs tape are out of style now but there are still a lot of the people that don't have the money to buy dvd players. With us, we are on the cable now with charter on demand so we don't have the problems that we use to have finding a good movie to watch. Now I am into doing panoramas as you can see by the other pages that I have on this site. It is taking up a bunch of my time taking the pictures and making the panoramas. Plus, we go to the gym 3 time a week to keep in shape.
